Accountancy-90 Year Anniversary at RMU

Robert Morris University was founded in 1921 as The Pittsburgh School of Accountancy.  This reflects a long history of offering accounting and other business fields here at Robert Morris University. Today, the Department of Accounting and Taxation offers academic programs leading to the following degrees: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a concentration in accounting; an integrated 156-credit BSBA/MBA, and a Master of Science in Taxation.

Degree programs offered by the Department provide students with both a solid technical foundation and skills needed to develop a successful career in accounting and business. Accounting degree programs prepare students for careers in public accounting, private industry, non-profit organizations, or the government. Students graduating from the integrated BSBA/MBA degree program meet the 150-hour educational requirement to take the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination. Graduates are also prepared to take the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) examinations.
